RocRooms @ Lovin' Cup Idol

by kenny@rocrooms.com 11. February 2011 13:26
RocRooms and Rentals would like to thank all those who made it possible to come out, have a good time and give away some free gifts!

All of the performers were great, and it was difficult to see any of them cut. Congratulations to the 12 contestants that made it to the next round. RocRooms presented $50 Visa gift cards to Joceyln for being the “Crowd Favorite” and Logan for the “Most Original Performance.” Logan then chose a lucky couple from the crowd to win a dinner for two at Lovin' Cup, co-sponsored by RocRooms and Lovin' Cup.

Come out on Monday for the Beatles Night round to support Lovin' Cup Idol and RocRooms again!

We hope to see some of our students attending the event!

RocRooms Sponsors Rochester League Kickball Team

by kenny@rocrooms.com 25. January 2011 08:40

RocRooms is sponsoring a kickball league! All games are on Saturdays and you need to be 21 to participate. There is also a female quota for each team we form. The minimum is 4 women on a team of 10.

The season starts in March, and if we have more than 20 people we might be able to split into two teams. Per person pricing will be figured out once we have an accurate roster. Default pricing for the league is $450 per team.

If you are interested in more details, feel free to go to the league website for more information.

Sponsored by RocRooms & Rentals. Visit us at our website to learn more about our housing options.

5 Ways to be a good RocRooms Roomate

by kenny@rocrooms.com 24. January 2011 08:18

1. Communicate: Don't just ignore the other people who live with you, even if you were strangers when you moved in. Be friendly! Talk to them and discuss your living habits. It makes everyone more comfortable with each other, which promotes a better living situation.

2. Share: If a roommate needs a small item, it would be nice if they did not need to go out and buy something already in the house. Sharing something with a roommate makes them want to return the good deed, and can save everyone money when you buy in bulk.

3. Make Lists: For tasks that need to be done by everyone in the house, make a list. From grocery lists to a dishes schedule, a written schedule makes everyone responsible for chores, which makes getting them done more efficient.

4. Clean Up: Cleaning up after yourself makes your roommates happier and makes the houses easier to live in.

5. Parking Etiquette: In most of our housing, parking etiquette is necessary to make parking easy and available to everyone. Try to park so the other roommates won't have a hard time trying to fit in parking spots.
